Community Survey 2015
Results of the 2015 Survey
The Village Board and Staff would like to express their appreciation to all of the residents and business owners who participated in the recent online community survey. A total of 919 surveys were submitted, which represents a response rate of approximately 12% of Libertyville households. The survey was conducted through an independent consultant, the National Research Center, Inc. of Boulder, Colorado, and is known as “the national citizen survey” (NCS ). The survey captured residents opinions within three pillars of a community (community characteristics, governance, and participation) and across eight central facets of community (safety, mobility, natural environment, built environment, economy, recreation and wellness, education and enrichment, and community engagement). Almost all residents gave excellent or good ratings to the overall quality of life (96%) and Libertyville as a place to live (98%) in fact, overall survey results indicated ratings of excellent or good in almost all categories, including the quality of services provided by the Village, and exceeding those ratings in approximately 300 other benchmark communities. The lowest scores were in the areas of cost-of-living and affordable quality housing. Respondents also identified public safety and economic development as important issues for future strategic planning. A complete copy of the survey results is available on the village website at www.Libertyville.com. The results of the survey will be used as the foundation for the development of a community strategic plan.Community Survey Summary Results
